I am about to build a new house. When should I contact Nick about landscaping?

As early as possible during the design or planning stage of your new build. Landscape Transformers coordinates directly with your house builders to prepare irrigation lines, outdoor lighting, and drainage before concrete driveways or hardscaping paths are poured. Completing bulk earthworks, site preparation, and lawn excavation early prevents future access barriers, as boundary fences, decks, and finished patio areas often block excavators from reaching the rear section later in the build. Arranging a quick, free on-site consultation with Nick before construction begins prevents costly delays and avoids unnecessary manual labor fees later on.

I have a steep slope on my property and do not know what to do with it. How can it be developed?

Nick has extensive experience turning steep slopes into usable space using terraces, timber, sleeper, or stone steps, seating areas, and concrete block, rock, or timber retaining walls. We manage all site earthworks, soil preparation, and drainage. Nick selects deep rooting plants to hold banks naturally across different soil types in Nelson and Tasman.

Do you remove excess clay, soil, and waste after excavation?

Yes. Landscape Transformers loads and hauls away all excess clay, rock, root systems, and unwanted site material to approved clean fill facilities within the Tasman and Nelson districts upon completion of excavation.
