Landscape Design Plans
Nelson/Tasman
Great landscapes don’t happen by accident. They start with a solid plan.
Whether you are starting with a bare patch of dirt on a new build or completely overhauling a tired backyard, jumping straight into construction without a plan is a recipe for blown budgets and wasted space.
At Landscape Transformers, we create custom landscape design plans tailored specifically to your property, your budget, and your lifestyle. Having an in house designer means we bridge the gap between ideas and construction. We work directly with homeowners, and frequently alongside building companies, to ensure your outdoor areas perfectly integrate with the rest of your project.
From smart spatial layouts and material choices to practical plant selection, we map it all out so you know exactly what the final result will look like, and what it will cost to build.
Pricing:
Our landscape concept plans start from $800 + GST for smaller sections, and typically range up to $1,800 + GST depending on the property size, site complexity, and your scope of work.
FAQs
Do I really need a landscape design plan?
1
For a small patch of lawn or a simple path, you likely don't need a full design plan, we can do a measure up and mark out the area on site to get you accurate pricing and a clear layout. But if you're transforming a larger area, combining multiple elements like decks, paving, and planting, or working with a sloping site, a plan makes a real difference. It helps the space flow properly, avoids costly mistakes during construction, and gives you an accurate blueprint to price the job against..
What is actually included in a Landscape Concept Plan?
2
A concept plan gives you a bird's eye view of your new outdoor space. It maps out the spatial layout of all hardscaping (decks, patios, paths, retaining walls) and softscaping (lawns, garden beds, and plant palettes). It shows you exactly how the space will function and what materials will be used, giving you a clear roadmap for the build.
We are building a new house. When should we get in touch?
3
The earlier, the better. The best outdoor spaces are planned before the house is even finished. Getting us involved during the build process means we can work alongside your building company, align our timelines, and ensure things like earthworks, lighting, irrigation, access, and drainage are prepped before slabs and driveways are laid, and that decks and driveways end up in the right location and the right size.
Do you only design the gardens, or do you build them too?
4
We do both! That is the advantage of using Landscape Transformers. Because our designer works in house with our construction team, the plans we create are highly practical and built to be constructed efficiently. Once you approve the design, we can provide a detailed quote and our team will handle the entire installation.
Can we do the landscaping in stages?
5
Absolutely. A landscape plan is a master roadmap. Once the design is finished, we can break the construction down into phases to suit your budget. You might want us to tackle the heavy stuff first, like retaining walls, patios, and decks, and leave the planting for a later stage, or you can choose to handle the planting yourself. We can deliver and place the plants for you if that helps.
It starts with a free on site consultation. We will meet you at your property to walk the site, discuss your ideas, assess the space, and figure out the best design package for your needs.
